Materials
Beautiful jewelry and conscious material choices go hand in hand. That is why we work with recycled brass and silver – materials that allow us to create jewelry with feeling, quality and care. Here you can read more about our materials and how best to look after your jewelry.
GOLD JEWELRY
Our gold jewelry is plated with 18K gold in a generous micron plating. The gold we use is 50% recycled. Beneath the plating is a base of recycled brass or recycled sterling silver, and every piece is made by hand. The result is an exclusive and durable finish with the warm lustre of 18K gold, at a more accessible price than solid gold jewelry.
SILVER JEWELRY
Our silver jewelry is made from 100% recycled 925 sterling silver – a high-quality material with a beautiful lustre and a long lifespan. Some pieces that require extra stability, such as brooches and rigid bracelets, instead have a base of recycled brass plated with silver. This makes them stiffer and reduces the risk of them losing their shape when worn.
Using recycled silver reduces the climate impact by around 70% compared with mining new silver. It also reduces the need for new raw materials and allows valuable material to be used again and again.
Silver is a finite resource, and demand is high across jewelry, electronics and new technology. That is why recycling is becoming an increasingly important part of using silver more responsibly.
By working with recycled silver, we can create jewelry with the same quality and expression, while using the earth’s resources more carefully.
STONES AND PEARLS
We choose our stones and pearls with great care, focusing on quality, colour and character. We often work with natural gemstones, where every stone is unique. Small variations in colour, shape and lustre are part of the stone’s natural beauty and make each piece of jewelry personal.
We choose stones that feel natural and beautiful and that can be used responsibly. That is why we follow the development of new materials and methods, and are open to both natural and lab-grown alternatives when they offer the right quality, expression and a lower climate impact.
Natural Gemstones
We use natural gemstones such as amethyst, aquamarine, moonstone, labradorite, rose quartz, citrine, garnet and many more, selected for their colour, lustre and character. Natural gemstones have formed in nature over a long period of time, and every stone is unique. This means that shade, pattern and transparency may vary slightly from piece to piece – a natural part of the stone’s character.
Pearls
We use cultured freshwater pearls, which form inside freshwater mussels. They consist largely of nacre, which gives them their soft lustre and beautiful surface. In some pieces we use baroque pearls, valued for their organic and irregular shapes. Every pearl is unique, with natural variations in shape, colour and lustre.
Lab-grown Stones
Lab-grown stones are created in a laboratory and have the same chemical composition and crystal structure as their natural counterparts. This means they have the same colour, lustre and properties as a natural gemstone, but without being mined from the earth. We use lab-grown stones when they offer the right quality, expression and a lower climate impact.
Glass Beads
In selected pieces we use Japanese glass beads, valued for their precision, consistent quality and rich colour palette. They are made with great craftsmanship and draw on a long tradition of glass bead making.
Cubic Zirconia
We also use cubic zirconia, a synthetic stone valued for its clear brilliance and beautiful lustre. Unlike a natural or lab grown gemstone, cubic zirconia has a different chemical composition and crystal structure. Each stone is individually cut by hand, which means small variations may occur.
CARE GUIDE
Our jewelry is made to be worn often. You can shower and sleep in it without any problems. However, to preserve its lustre for as long as possible, we recommend taking it off when you exercise and avoiding contact with salt water and chlorinated pool water.
Perfume, body lotion, hair products and cosmetics can affect the surface over time. So let these products dry or absorb before putting on your jewelry.
When you are not wearing your jewelry, we recommend storing it in the jewelry pouch or box that came with your purchase. This protects it from scratches and helps it keep its beautiful finish for longer.
REPAIRS & RECYCLING
Our jewelry is made to last, but sometimes things can still break. If that happens, we are happy to help. Contact us or bring your piece to one of our stores, and we will make sure to find a solution.
Broken jewelry is repaired whenever possible. If a silver piece cannot be repaired, the material is recycled and can be given new life in new jewelry. For us, this is a natural way of making the most of both the material and the craftsmanship behind every piece.
