Sustainability has never been a separate project at Syster P. It is woven into everything we do — how we build our business, nurture our relationships, and create our jewelry. For us, it means ensuring that every piece carries a sense of care: for the person who wears it, for the people who make it, and for the world we all share.

Handcrafted with care

A key part of this approach lies in the materials we choose. We use only 100% recycled silver — a decision we made early on and have remained committed to ever since. Recycled silver has the same quality and properties as newly mined silver, but with a significantly lower environmental impact.

By using existing materials, we reduce the need for new mining — an activity that often causes considerable harm to nature, local communities, and ecosystems. For us, it shows that beautiful, timeless jewelry can be created without compromising either quality or responsibility.

Through our replating and recycling services, we also aim to extend the life of jewelry already in the world. Many pieces carry deep personal meaning and deserve to last far beyond a single trend cycle. Jewelry that is cherished and worn for years is, in itself, a sustainable choice — and we want to give our customers the opportunity to care for and keep what they love.

Our environmental efforts extend beyond the jewelry itself. We have reduced the amount of air in our packaging, allowing us to use less material and transport more efficiently. It is a small but meaningful step, as transportation accounts for a significant share of our jewelry’s carbon footprint.

We are also working to increase the number of fossil-free deliveries, and in the Nordic region this is already a standard option. At the same time, we monitor energy use in production and maintain an ongoing dialogue with our suppliers about transitioning to renewable energy sources. Progress does not always happen quickly — but as technology advances, each step moves us in the right direction.

Sustainability is not about ticking off a checklist. It is about continuously learning, improving, and taking responsibility for the choices made today, while remaining curious about how things can evolve in the future. It is about relationships — with our customers, our suppliers, and our team — and about building something that lasts over time.

And just as our jewelry carries a small spark of strength or joy for the person who wears it, we hope our sustainability work can do the same — contributing to something meaningful, honest, and long-lasting.
